Max and Zac
Tell us about yourselves
My name is Zac and I am a filmmaker (now also radio presenter), who strives to do all things creative. Still young, being 18, and spending all my time listening to music and watching films. I am currently studying, but hoping to get into something media related once I’m done.
I’m Max, and if you count Diggers Rest as local then I’ve been a life long local for nearly 18 years. I’m a huge nerd when it comes to science, and apparently I love doing radio too. It was very much just a last second thing, but I’m glad I did because being able to interact in the music space is sick and the people have all been lovely.
Tell us all about your show
Max and I play what we find important. Our show though is a place where people can just either relax and listen to music or just shut off their radio.
Given the broadness of our combined music taste however, the chances are that if you don’t like one of our shows, the next one might be more your jam.
We play music from the popular bands such as Nirvana, The police, Red Hot Chillie Peppers, Billy Joel, Weezer, and Joy Division, to the obscure groups such as Neutral Milk Hotel, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Black Country New Road, The Districts, Daniel Johnston, and many more…
But we also love to feature local music. We feel people should listen in to have some variety, and listen to the music that makes who we are. We sometimes take request on our Instagram for more variety in our shows.
What’s your all-time favourite album?
(Zac) Neutral Milk Hotel‘s – In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.
(Max) The Districts – A Flourish and a Spoil
Do you play a musical instrument?
No, we have no musical talent.
What’s Your all-time favourite movie?
(Zac) Wanting to be a filmmaker, I have near to everything. And to pick one is hard. But here is a few, Stalker (1979), Scott pilgrim vs The World, Beau is Afraid, Before Sunrise, The Seventh Seal, and Once Were Warriors. One of them is my favourite.
(Max) My favourite movie has to be Isle of Dogs by Wes Anderson, or Into The Wild by Sean Penn, based on a book, based on a real person: Alexander Supertramp.
