Hundreds of keen music lovers poured into the Sunbury Radio Record Fair Sunday 16 February to pick through thousands of albums, perhaps looking to replace long lost disc, buy a memorable piece of vinyl, or grab a rare recording of a favourite artist.

The popular event, which has been missing from the local calendar for some time, attracted visitors from across Sunbury and beyond.

Held at the Sunbury Social Club, Riddell Rd, doors opened at 11am to a waiting crowd and buyers were still busy chatting with stallholders when the fair ended at 4pm.

“We had far more visitors than in previous years,” says Sunbury Radio president Alan Fraser. “It was well attended and exceeded all our expectations.”

The event, which raised more than $1,500 for the community radio station – now a registered charity – included a live broadcast from the venue fronted by station volunteer Dan Pederson.

During the afternoon he interviewed station supporters and fellow presenters including Barry Maxwell, Alicia Killen, Ian Lamont, Alan Olsen, Dean Walker, Andrew Smith, and Evan Barton about their favourite albums and artists. See presenter profiles here.
